Francesca Woodman by Chris Townsend

The first comprehensive monograph on the young but highly-influential American photographer, Francesca Woodman (1958-1981), who tragically took her own life at the age of 23.

This book contains over 250 photographs, some of which have never been exhibited or published before as well as extracts from Woodman's journals, selected by her father George Woodman.

Text by Dr Chris Townsend (Royal Holloway, University of London) explores Woodman's influences from Surrealism and feminism to post-minimalism and 'gothic' photography and literature.

This book is now out of print but Ingleby Gallery have a limited number of copies available for sale.
