Our last exhibition with Callum Innes inaugurated Ingleby’s exhibition programme at Edinburgh's Glasite Meeting House, the grade A listed building that has been our gallery since 2018. In that show Innes presented five very large Exposed paintings which combined with the historic architecture to suggest a kind of sepulchral, almost devotional presence. In returning this April Innes promises to push that exploration of the physicality of paint and colour within architectural space even further, with a series of site specific wall paintings that will play with the natural light that floods the gallery in spring and early summer.
