Andrew Cranston and Frank Walter are presented in a group exhibition The Inner Island with the Foundation Carmignac on Porquerolles. The island location offers the conceptual starting point to explore 'an essential driver of creation, as powerful as it is common: the distancing of reality as to reveal an interiority.'
More than 80 works by fifty artists, gathered from both private and public collections, will populate the Villa Carmignac. Cranston and Walter rub shoulders with Peter Doig and Auguste Rodin, Kiki Smith and Roy Lichtenstein, creating 'strange presences, human, animal, hybrid or supernatural.'
