The Quick and the Dead

Published in 2010 as part of Ingleby Gallery’s Billboard for Edinburgh print series.

Hunter’s chosen text ‘The Quick and the Dead’ is a English phrase that originates from the King James version of the Christian Bible. The word ‘Quick’ being an older form of the word ‘Living’. This print is one of the latest in a series of works in which Hunter explores the idea of text as image.
