22 March - 1 April 2017

and per se and is a rolling sequence of exhibitions where one work is paired with another for two weekly periods, across a stretch of 12 months. The starting point was Mark Wallinger’s epic film THE END, which is currently screening on the hour, 11am-4pm Wed-Sat. On Wednesday 22 March it will be joined in the gallery by Albrecht Dürer’s THE APOCALYPSE, an extraordinary volume of fifteen woodcuts from 1498. This is a bound volume exhibited in a in a display case with the pages turned to display perhaps the most famous of all these woodcuts The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. After a further two weeks, (5 April) the Wallinger film will be removed and the Dürer will be joined by Katie Paterson’s investigation of our cosmos ALL THE DEAD STARS, with the pages of The Apocalypse turned to reveal another image The Opening of the Fifth and Sixth Seals.
