Future Library – Author Handover Ceremony
2 June 2017
Nordmarka forest, Oslo, Norway
On Friday 2 June Icelandic author Sjón will be the third author to hand-over their manuscript which will be held, unread, in trust until its publication in 2114 as part of Katie Paterson’s 100 year long artwork.
The annual Ceremony takes place in Nordmarka forest, outside Oslo. The day involves a public walk into the forest, where the author gives a reading; then a question and answer event in the Deichmanske library in Oslo. The story-telling event in the forest and the in-conversation event in the library will continue for generations.
Future Library is commissioned and produced by Bjørvika Utvikling, managed by the Future Library Trust.
Supported by the City of Oslo, Agency for Cultural Affairs and Agency for Urban Environment.
