Peter Liversidge & Low at the Royal Festival Hall
3rd April 2012
Royal Festival Hall
of the Southbank Centre
3 April, 2012, 7.30pm
Peter Liversidge has designed a three-screen video projection, mirror balls and lighting for Low’s performance at the Royal Festival Hall. This commission is the first to be realised from a series of proposals for Low written by Liversidge.
The first 500 people to arrive at the concert will receive an embossed facsimile of Liversidge’s proposal related to the performance.
Low (Duluth, Minnesota) return to London a year on from releasing their ninth LP, C’mon, in April 2011. Low was formed almost 20 years ago in 1993 by Alan Sparhawk and his now wife and drummer Mimi Parker. Sparhawk and Parker’s beautiful vocal harmonies, along with the band’s restrained approach to tempo and instrumentation make Low’s sound distinctly recognisable.
