Anya Gallaccio
Arthur’s Seat
Anya Gallaccio’s print is the latest print to be realised as part of the Billboard for Edinburgh print series.
Gallaccio’s billboard image has been created by taking photographs of a small sample of dirt using an electron microscope. This is the latest in a series of works where the artist uses this technology to create alternative “landscapes”.
The dirt sample used for this image was taken from Edinburgh’s famous natural landmark Arthur’s Seat.
Gallaccio has realised the image as a two-colour screenprint with a metallic silver background and black ink overlaid. This technique has added an intriguing extra dimension to the image.
Full details of Gallaccio’s print can be found below the image.
